The Change…

It is been so long I haven’t written any blogs but here I am.

Everyone makes a lot of mistakes in their lives and learns from it. But as quoted by Niels Bohr “An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made, in a narrow field”. We are here to learn and create something significant which will positively contribute to the world. We should not take mistakes too seriously as life is too short to wake up with regrets. You might have observed that kids are smarter than us nowadays, they are using smartphones at the age of 2 years. Because they do not know the meaning of the word “mistake”. They know exactly which app to open to play a game and how to use other apps. On the contrary, taking an example of an aged person who can read and write, even after you teach them they avoid performing the same task just because they are scared of making mistakes. Old people do not tend to forget things just because of their age but also because they are afraid of change or one can say afraid of making mistakes. When one tries to prevent themselves from not doing something, their mind automatically deletes the data of that particular task and also their mind does not register it when you are teaching them to perform a particular task.

However, we are no different. There is something similar to people except children and aged persons. What we keep hearing from childhood becomes our beliefs. As they say, “when a lie is told enough times, it becomes the truth”. Let’s not call it a lie but belief. People keep following the things and performing rituals just because they are told enough times or has seen people doing believing that if all are doing means something will be there but in reality, it is not the case. People who are successful are not successful by believing what the world believes blindly. They are successful because they have challenged their beliefs and always asked questions. People do 9-5 routine job because they are afraid of trying or losing. They also do that job because they are told to get a secure job and have a happy life, but no one is actually happy doing that job. The people who are really happy are the ones who are having their own venture. This was one example, you can take any example and ask the question “Why?” and try to get into the foundation of that belief.

If people just do this, this will transform their entire life and they will start to see the world with a different and positive perspective.

  1. Who are those who works in such”VENTURES”. And can you run a VENTURE by yourself alone?? Not all who work 9 – 5 are doing it out of fear of change. Many of them do like their work. And propogating this lie that 9-5 jobs are out of need and not fun makes it a truth eventually. And that is not a good thing. Its will make those people question their worth who actually like what they do. Change has a very broad sense of meaning to it. Narrowing it according to the worlds eye is just a delusion.

    1. Hi Toska,

I appreciate the time you took to read, understand and discuss my content. However, let me clarify as I haven’t been able to communicate my contention clearly.

You are right that not everyone working 9-5 is doing it out of fear; and I also don’t advocate that they are unneeded or monotonous. See, what I have tried to deliver is that people should not just accept the values imposed on them by their parents, community or culture. Rather, we should be critical and ask why?

Why do I wish to work 9-5? Why do I pray? Why am I (not) a vegetarian? Ultimately, to understand why they are doing what they are doing.

Have you heard of VaynerMedia by Gary Vaynerchuck? Gary runs this large organisation with his team members who work 9-5 for him. However, they are happy because they understand their why; for some its because it provides a good work-life balance, whereas for some this venture is just a stepping stone to something bigger.

To sum it up, we all ought to benefit from not simply accepting the beliefs imposed on our blank slates; rather, we should strive towards asking life why?
